If you’ve been keeping up with recent trends in the wide, wide world of sex toys the way I do, you may have picked up on the seemingly-meteoric rise of the self-thrusting dildo. With the magic of miniaturization and modern technology, it’s becoming more and more affordable for folks to have what is essentially a mini sex machine (as well as taking up far less space in one’s living room). While most of these novel toys accomplish their thrusting action in a purely mechanical fashion, the product we’re talking about today uses something completely different: MAGNETS. The Thump It dildo is the latest iteration of XR Brand’s Thump It toys, which use “Kinetic Technology” (make of that what you will) to simulate a thumping motion/sensation. So, being a big fan of other thrusting toys like the Velvet Thruster Teddy, I of course had to give this one a try.
There are three sizes of Thump It dildos, ranging from 7.25 to 8.5 inches in length. The one I have is the small, which has an insertable length of 6.75 inches and a diameter of 1.6 inches at its widest. The first thing I noticed upon taking it out of the box was just how silky soft the finish on the silicone is. I’m pretty sure I just sat on my couch for the next ten minutes, idly stroking it like some kind of pet or worry stone, completely taken in by the sheer joy of the tactile sensation. (What, have you never just stroked a silicone dick before?) The toy is on the firmer side, without much give to it except for a little bit in the head, presumably due to the “Kinetic Technology” inside. It’s covered in a medium, veiny texture and has a good number of folds along the corona of the head, as if to simulate bunched foreskin. The shaft is totally straight, which is a bit of a bummer, since I prefer my insertables to have at least a bit of a curve to them to stimulate my G-spot. On the bottom of the dildo is a strong suction cup, which is also stiff enough to be used with a strap on harness.
Thump It dildo with the We-Vibe Melt
I’ve been having trouble figuring out the best way to describe this toy because it’s really unlike anything I’ve experienced before. What I will say is that I absolutely LOVE it. Thump It is an apt name for this toy, because that is definitely how I would describe the sensation. It doesn’t feel like a thruster stroking in and out, or a vibrator pulsing, but more like a deep thumping throughout my pelvic area, enough to make my thighs noticeably jiggle when I am using it. The Thump It has seven functions, three of which are steady and the other four are patterns. Weirdly enough, I feel like the second of the four “pattern” speeds is not so much a pattern but just another variation on a steady speed. It’s kind of hard for me to explain, but suffice it to say I have successfully climaxed on five of the seven functions, two of the patterns included. I recently also discovered that if I put my Vixen Holster sleeve on the Thump It, it becomes a dual density delight with much more for me to clench around.
I love how the sensation of this dildo complements my current favorite clit stimulation toy, the We-Vibe Melt. My most frequent masturbation style at the moment involves me using both of them at the same time and letting the bed-shaking thumping take me to climax with very little actual effort. I have yet to use this toy with it actually suctioned to something, because I am certain that if I put it on something like my shower wall or headboard it would thump loudly enough to wake our neighbors upstairs. All that to say that this little guy has a lot of power, and though it’s not terribly loud on its own, the vibrations travel deeply through anything you stick it to.
I haven’t used the remote much, but I did stick some batteries in to play around with it, and it was a little confusing. You have to pair the toy with it every time, first turning on the toy at its base, then holding the “on” button on the remote for a few seconds for it to sync before you can toggle the functions. I think this could come in handy for a scene in which Dick has me being fucked by this dildo while he is doing other horrible things to me, so he can also change the speeds without having to fiddle around with it, but it is a bit cumbersome.
To wrap this up, I wanted to share my pro’s and con’s:
Pros:
- Silicone, waterproof, rechargeable dildo.
- Deep thumping sensations with seven functions.
- Super soft outer finish.
- Strong suction cup.
Cons:
- Loud vibration through anything you attach it to.
- No curve.
- Grooves under the head require careful detail cleaning.

I would definitely recommend this toy to someone who is into deep thumping sensations or is interested in trying something a little different from the standard vibrator. As for me, I will be using this toy often, and I’m excited to see what else XR brands does with this technology in the future.
