This week, we sat down with Onyx to talk about kink and blindness, as well as what it’s like to host a munch for blind kinksters called Blindfold Not Required. We also discussed needle play that focuses on aesthetic/design, and ANR (adult nursing relationships).
Introduction to BDSM and Adult Nursing Relationships
Onyx’s Radioactive Spider Bite into Kink all started with Rihanna—the song S&M, to be exact. Before they heard the song, they grew up in a small town in the south where kink was really taboo. Never in their life had they received any context for what BDSM actually was, and the song was the first time it was put into context and they understood it as sexy. They also went to a milk munch at a sex educator friend’s house, which is a munch for people who are into erotic lactation. This made them realize the kink community existed, so they went home afterward and created a Fetlife profile.
Adult Nursing Relationships
Onyx is in an adult nursing relationship, which means that their partner nurses from them. They enjoy this practice because of the closeness of it, and the ability to share intimate, dedicated time with their partner. Dick and Gwen divulge about how they tried integrating erotic lactation into their life for a while, but they found that they weren’t able to find enough time to dedicate to it. This leads us to talk about the commitment involved in ANR compared to in many other kinks—it takes a lot of effort to get someone to lactate without being pregnant if they’re able to at all, and from that point breasts often need to be milked multiple times per day. Onyx explains that they were lucky enough to lactate on one of their first tries, but typically it takes many weeks or months of practice before it actually happens.
We also talk about the hotness involved in the discomfort of breastfeeding. Specifically, Dick and Gwen find it hot that breasts become uncomfortable or painful if they go too long without being milked. Related to Dick’s fetish for machinery, he’s also attracted to breast pumps and the uncaring way they milk people. We’re also into the idea of breastfeeding becoming a chore that just has to be done in order to reduce discomfort.
Running a Munch for Blind Kinksters
Next, we ask Onyx about the virtual munch they run for blind kinksters called Blindfold Not Required. They explain that it’s mainly a skill-sharing munch where they explain to each other how to engage in various kinks, and it’s also open to the partners of the blind folks who attend. One of Onyx’s favorite aspects of running the munch is witnessing how much people grow in their skills from week to week, and they also love that they’ve gotten others into ANR through running the munch.
Needle Play
Finally, we talk about needle play and their interest in the aesthetic side of this kink. As a bottom for needles, they particularly enjoy incorporating ornamental aspects, such as flowers or other bits of nature. The reason they love needles so much is that they find it deeply relaxing, and they try to sync their breathing with each insertion. They were turned onto this kink through an online needle class—they bought all of the supplies the same night and never looked back. They also enjoy doing self-needle play and wearing their designs for days at a time.
Onyx also answers listener questions about ableism in the media, types of needles to use for decorative needle play, and resources to learn more about kink and disability.
