In all my days geeking out over sex toys, none have captured my attention quite like the Teddy by Velvet Thruster. This was my first exposure to a new class of toys that becoming increasingly popular day by day — thrusting dildos. Little, hand-held sex machines. (Sounds like a small penis humiliation nickname, I know.) A technological marvel, if you ask me. And you did, by clicking on the link that brought you here. New versions of hand held thrusters are coming to the market all the time, and the Teddy seems at this point to be the cream of the crop.

The Teddy is fully silicone and has an insertable length of 5”. The shaft is firm and has a slight squish on the head, but the silicone is relatively smooth and mildly textured. But of course, this is no ordinary, static dildo. It has also has about two and a half inches of thrusting action (did anyone else hear that in the voice of an action figure commercial narrator?), along with six different speeds. As far as convenience features, it has a suction cup that can double as a base if you want to use it in a strap on, so it’s mountable in a variety of ways. There’s a lot of versatility here and the suction cup is not bad. While they come in a variety of colors, the one I have is in a GORGEOUS shade of red that seems only appropriate for a high-performance machine. After all, this baby gets up to 125 thrusts per minute at max speed, which is a slight step up from the older model from the Velvet Thruster line. While I haven’t tried the older model, or indeed any other thrusting toy, this one is apparently a step up in speed and a welcome step down in noise. While the Teddy is definitely the loudest toy in my collection (I’d compare it to the Magic Wand Rechargeable, if you’re familiar ), but it certainly is not ear splitting. I recommend searching Youtube for some example clips if you’re curious (Felicity from Phallophile has a good one here).

The Teddy fully extended.
Which brings us to the subjective but important part of this review. Personally, I really enjoy the Teddy. I find the speeds to be satisfactory and I really like having something around that makes jerking off while sleepy seem a less monumental effort (because really, who can be asked when tired). The biggest challenge I have had is simply maneuvering the thing, since it’s not something that can really just be held and allowed to do its thing. The easiest way I’ve managed to find to use it is some odd positioning of it between my feet to keep it relatively stable. Sounds weird, I know, but it works. Other ways that work alright are suctioning it to my headboard or to the new T.O.M. Mount I just got for my birthday. Something else that I find a little tricky is just reaching the buttons to increase/decrease the speed, mostly when I am using it from behind. Frankly, it requires a bit of stretching and fiddling around to find them, so I think that a remote or something like that would make it a bit easier.

At my bedside where it belongs.
I hope that in the future Velvet Thruster will make a version of this that has a bit more girth and a bit of a curve to it, given my personal preferences for insertables, but even in its current state I think that this is a great device. I find it really helpful on the days that I want to get fucked but my partner isn’t physically up to it. I also think it will work really well as a stunt cock for when I want to be spit-roasted. I’ve heard a few folks saying that it works really well if you get a cock sheath to add length and girth, so I’m crossing my fingers that one of those can find its way into my collection soon. Until then, this baby sits on my bedside — partially because I am using it often but also because I love to look at it. The future of fuck toys is here, my friends, and it is wonderful sight to behold.
