In a world filled with COVID19 and quarantine, self-bondage can be a great way to scratch your kinky itch alone or indulge in other fantasies. Self-bondage is the act of tying or restraining yourself for your own benefit or others. Whether you’re instructed to do so by a partner or you’re feeling frisky, here are self-bondage tips and tricks.

Safety

First off, it is important to consider your risk profile. Just because you are playing on your own doesn’t mean things can’t go wrong. Be sure to have a system in place that allows you to get out of bondage quickly and safely. Whether it’s an extra set of keys, a pair of safety scissors, or a friend who’s aware of what’s going on, you can never be over prepared. It is better to be over prepared than end up in a dangerous situation that you can’t get out of.

Now that we’ve got the safety outlined, here are the seven sexy self-bondage tips and tricks you need to get your rocks off in locks.

Plan out your session

Have all your tools laid out, plan what you’re going to do, and stick to it! Changing your plan mid-scene could impact your safety and when you’re alone this is something you have to keep in the forefront of your mind. Think of anything that could go wrong and make sure you’re prepared before those scenarios. Lastly, do a mental check to make sure you’re mentally and physically prepared. Have you gone to the bathroom? Are you expecting anyone? Are the doors locked?

Once you’ve planned and prepared, you’re ready to get down and dirty.

No tools? No problem

While some kinksters have a collection of ropes, chains, and handcuffs, others may not be as well-equipped. Have no fear, there are things all over the house that can be used for self-bondage. Take an extra pair of shoelaces for example. Tie them together and now you have a length of rope you can tie in any configuration you can imagine.  The best part is you can easily cut them off if something happens and you won’t be out of pocket. Take a walk around your house and see what else you can find to create sexy self-bondage scenes. Velcro, phone cords, robe ties, even scarves will do the trick.

Locks

If you are just starting out with self-bondage this may not be a good place to start, but if you’re looking to kick things up a bit, try locking it down. While this may sound like a weird phone call to a locksmith waiting to happen, there are ways to use locks in self bondage that can be safe and sexy. Try using a combination lock. Practice with the lock beforehand and write down the combination where you can easily find it if you forget.

Lights out

With the joys of technology, lights can now be controlled through your phone. Try setting a timer to turn off the lights at a certain time. This way you can tie yourself up, then the lights can turn off giving you the illusion of helplessness. If this is something you’re planning on trying, don’t forget to set a timer to turn the lights back on for you. Being stuck in bondage in the dark may not be an ideal situation.

Just chill

Ice can make an excellent timer when it comes to self-bondage. It allows you to have the escape close at hand but not close enough for you to slip out whenever you want. If you’re using a lock, try freezing the key in a block of ice. The bigger the ice block, the longer you will be stuck in your binds.

Play with yourself or better yet, a friend

If rope is your thing, try out different knots and ties on parts of your body that won’t restrict you. For example, try out a tie on your legs or torso. Once you think you’ve got it down, ask a friend to help you out. Try what you want to do to yourself on someone else. This way you can visualize where the rope will go, what could go wrong, and different ways you could get out of the tie just in case.

Practice makes perfect

The internet is a wealth of knowledge and you should be using it to your advantage!
