In my household, we are power fanatics (take that how you will).  I had never actually owned a Magic Wand until my dearest Dick Wound bought one.  But before that, I got my hands on the PalmPower Recharge, and ever since then, my quest for power has brought me to try a lot of different things.  So of course when I found out that We-Vibe made a wand, I knew we had to try it.

The We-Vibe Wand is not a huge deviation from the standard wand formula, but it has quite a few details that make it stand out, like:

  • 100% waterproof silicone design, meaning you can use it in the shower and clean it very easily
  • Magnetic recharging
  • Ergonomic handle shape
  • Smart Silence (more on this later)
  • Bluetooth control via the We-Connect app
  • Comes with additional stimulation attachments

One of the things I was most excited about was the fully-waterproof body.  I also knew that I was a big fan of We-Vibe’s silicone formula in general, and I am happy to report that I was not disappointed.  I am not big on shower masturbation, but the fact that the wand is waterproof makes playing messy with it a lot less stressful.  I love that the head is covered in a thicker layer of squishy silicone, and that, combined with the flexibility of the neck, makes it very comfortable to use.  Another feature that adds to comfort is the slightly angled handle, the shape of which I was initially skeptical about but soon found that I really appreciated.

A small note about the benefits of having a totally waterproof wand: Though it’s not technically recommended by the manufacturer, I did manage to fit the whole head inside of my vagina.  The experience was both good and uncomfortable.  As a kinky pervert, I love the feeling of being stretched and experimented with, so I feel like this will find it’s way into my partnered play in the near future.

The control system is relatively straight forward on the We-Vibe Wand.  There’s an on button, a button to control patterns and the lever that controls the power.  When you turn on the wand, it automatically starts on Smart Silence mode, a feature that makes it so the wand only vibrates when connected to your body.  Convenient when you need something that is discreet (probably very helpful for people quarantined with family right now) but not something I really care for personally.  I had to look online to find out how to turn this feature off because it doesn’t tell you in the quick-start booklet that the wand comes with (you have to hold the pattern button down for three seconds).  As far as the patterns themselves go, I don’t really care for them, but then I typically don’t like patterns that much to begin with, so I wasn’t expecting to be wowed.

The Wand comes with two silicone attachments that you can slip onto the head for different sensations, one of which is a fluttery attachment, somewhat resembling a hasselback potato.  I tried this attachment, but I just…don’t really get it.  It’s a much more diffused sensation, which I suppose can be nice, but it didn’t do anything for me personally.  I am not a big fan of “fluttery” toys in general, so that is likely why.  There is also a sleeve style attachment for penises that I had Dick try and will give you more details about in his opinions a bit further down.

Now for the important part: The POWER.  The We-Vibe Wand is certainly strong, with deep, rumbly vibration from low to high.  I compared it to the Magic Wand Rechargeable and found that the highest setting on the We-Vibe Wand came up just a bit weaker than the third setting on the Magic Wand.  Though, I did find that even on the highest setting, it kept a deeper rumble than the Magic Wand.  All of which is to say that the We-Vibe Wand, while not outright punch-you-in-the-ovaries strong, is definitely deep and powerful enough for some very satisfying orgasms.

As far as the We-Connect app goes, I have yet to really use it in a satisfactory way.  I think the coolest part about the app for me is that it tells you specifically how much battery life your toy has left and also gives you finer control over the power.  Recently, I spent about 20 minutes trying to connect the wand to play with a partner to no avail.  I could connect it to my app just fine, but it was nearly impossible to get it to connect to hers.  Someone told me recently that this is relatively common with the We-Connect, but then someone else said they had no issue with it.  Either way, it’s obviously not very reliable so I probably wouldn’t buy the wand just for this feature.

I handed the We-Vibe Wand over to Dick to see what he thought of it, and the reviews were generally positive.  He had an issue figuring out the smart silence, but he found the power more then satisfactory.  I asked him to try the penis attachment, and he wasn’t as enthusiastic about it, but I think it’s more his masturbation style rather then a fault with the piece itself.  Dick prefers vibration through a layer of fabric, so having to lube up the sleeve part and try to use it like that was a bit of a chore for him.  He likely won’t be using the attachment much, but I do see the wand going into his regular rotation.

And now for my personal pros and cons:

Pros:

  • Soft silicone waterproof body
  • Deep, rumbly vibration
  • Ergonomic shape
  • App compatible

Cons:

  • Smart Silence is annoying (though this feature may be a pro for you)
  • We-Connect app is very glitchy and unreliable
  • More expensive than, yet not as powerful as, the Magic Wand Rechargeable.

Overall, I think the We-Vibe Wand is a great addition to the wand market.  It brings some good new features to the table while also not being overly complicated.  This toy would be my top recommendation for anyone looking for a powerful, waterproof toy with lots of versatility.  We-Vibe is a company that continues to impress, and with this toy they really hit the nail on the (big, squishy, silicone) head.

Thank you We-Vibe for sending us this toy to review!
