My first ever sex toy was an electric toothbrush that I used when I was in middle school, unbeknownst to my family that it was for nefarious purposes. When I was that age I fantasized about having a vast sex toy collection as an adult—I dreamed of all the sensations I was unable to experience without my own money and some privacy. However, when I grew up, got a job, and dove deeper into my sexuality, I realized that I had become totally reliant on the electric toothbrush after using it as my sole orgasm provider for so many years. I stuck to keeping an electric toothbrush that was designated as a sex toy, because why would I spend money on real vibrators when the electric toothbrush made me perfectly happy?
At this point I’ve branched out from the days where I was solely dependent on my electric toothbrush, but I find that I’m still conditioned to seek out the type of sensation it provides—strong, direct, and deep vibrations. I struggle to cum with bullet vibrators or any clit stimulation that stimulates a greater surface area. This is why I’m drawn to the Blush Novelties Noje Quiver: it looks and acts similarly to a toothbrush, but is more sophisticated and it doesn’t make me feel like a teenager trying to sneak in a secret masturbation session.
The Quiver has seven vibrating functions and comes with two silicone attachments, one that’s rabbit-shaped and one that looks sort of like a rough-textured tongue. Without attachments, the head itself is a little sphere that delivers the most direct, pinpoint vibrations out of the three options. It’s USB rechargeable and tested IPX7 Waterproof, meaning it can be submerged up to one meter in water for 30 minutes (you can use it in the bathtub!). I will say that the charging mechanism can be finicky—the charger connects to the toy with two tiny magnets that aren’t very strong, so you have to be careful not to bump it while it’s charging.
The bunny head attachment didn’t work well for me because I wasn’t able to fit my clit between the two ears without them constantly sliding off, but I feel like those with bigger clits would have an easier time using it. Mine just doesn’t protrude enough for the ears to fit snugly.
Something I like about the rabbit attachment is that you can change the intensity of the vibrations depending on where you place it on your clit—the higher up you go on the ears, the less intense the sensation will be, as you get further away from the motor. Even if it fit I’m not sure that this attachment could make me cum, but I can picture a really fun scene with someone put in bondage and left with the rabbit on their clit.
The Quiver without attachments is my second favorite way to use it, as the sensations feel super direct and strong. The only downside is that the vibrations felt so intense that I couldn’t handle it directly on my clit, so I had to use it on one side or the other, and orgasms don’t feel as satisfying to me if only half of my clit is being stimulated.
For me, the textured tongue gives the most satisfying orgasm. While the stimulation still feels direct and pinpointed, the surface area it covers can be much larger than when you’re using it without attachments, depending on if you use one of the flat sides or the tip. I also like to switch between the textured side and the smooth side while I’m masturbating—I use the smooth side when the textured side feels too intense, and switch back to the textured side when the smooth side doesn’t feel strong enough. I also like to use the tip of the tongue directly on my clit for a little bit of overstimulation here and there, as the tip of the tongue feels similar to using the toy without attachments.
The only drawback to this toy is that it tends to stop vibrating if you put too much pressure on your clit. Because of this, I have difficulties getting a steady rhythm out of it. I’m someone who gradually increases how hard I’m pressing a toy into myself the more my body becomes accustomed to its sensation, something I normally do subconsciously, but that the Quiver doesn’t allow me to do. You essentially have to keep in on the surface level of your clit, because if you press any deeper the vibrations will dampen or stop completely.
Despite this, the Quiver with no attachments is my favorite vibrator to use during penetrative sex. The head is flexible and thinner than a pencil, so it’s easy to hold it in place on my clit while I’m being fucked. Because I’m a fan of intense pinpoint stimulation, the Quiver can make me come rather quickly, which is what I’m looking for during PIV sex (out of concern for physical stamina). The downside is that because the toy can’t handle too much pressure being put on it, it stops vibrating if your partner’s body pushes on it too much as they’re thrusting. However, after some adjustments and figuring out a position that works, I love that this can make me cum during PIV without being an obstruction.
My partner has even found some creatively kinky ways to use the Quiver on me. I did one scene where I had a dental gag in and my partner got the idea to put the Quiver in my mouth to see what would happen. When I’m gagged my mouth floods with saliva, and the Quiver sort of swirls it into a spit vortex that feels strange and invasive. When used in this way it almost feels like a dental tool and plays into my dentistry-related kinks. This toy could also be great to use on frenulums, nipples, or any other sensitive part of the body where you might want to direct pinpoint sensations.
Even with its flaws, I find myself reaching for the Quiver frequently, especially for getting myself off during PIV sex. I appreciate any toy that focuses on pinpoint vibration, and I love that even if you don’t like using the toy one way, there are multiple attachments and a variety of different ways to use it that you might enjoy more. The best quality of this toy for me is that out of all my toys, it’s the least obstructive to PIV sex. The Quiver is long enough to be able to hold it without your hand getting in the way of thrusts, and the toy itself is so thin that it’s barely noticeable to a partner. While I’ll never fully give up using an electric toothbrush as a sex toy, the Noje Quiver is a great alternative and adequately satisfies my desire for pinpoint stimulation.
